The scientific-practical journal “Statistical News” was entered into the Register of Periodical Publications of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Azerbaijan on 7 October 2015 under number 4004 and was registered with the International Centre for the International Standard Serial Number (ISSN) under ISSN 2413-6557. In addition, by the decision of the Presidium of the Supreme Attestation Commission under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan dated 31 March 2017 (Protocol № 06-R), the journal was included in the section of economic sciences of the “List of periodic scientific publications recommended for the publication of main results of dissertations in the Republic of Azerbaijan.” Articles submitted to the scientific-practical journal “Statistical News” are published in accordance with the rules established by the Supreme Attestation Commission.
The scientific-practical journal “Statistical News” publishes articles that have not been submitted to other publications, giving priority to research on the theoretical and methodological foundations of statistical science, the statistical analysis of economic, social, ecological, and demographic processes, as well as studies related to the economy and the social sphere.
In the special edition of the scientific-practical journal “Statistical News” dedicated to the World Statistics Day, congratulatory messages addressed to Azerbaijani statisticians from the Director of the UN Statistics Division, the Chairman of the CIS Interstate Statistical Committee, and the heads of the statistical agencies of Bulgaria, the Republic of Korea, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Türkiye have been published, along with articles devoted to topical issues of statistics prepared by the Chairmen of the State Statistical Committee, the State Customs Committee, and the Central Bank of the Republic of Azerbaijan, as well as by the heads and senior officials of the national statistical offices of Kazakhstan, Georgia, Serbia, Hungary, Belarus, and Türkiye, and by well-known scientists of the country.
